In the current drying industry, drying equipment can be divided into four categories according to different heating methods, namely: convection drying equipment, conductive drying equipment, radiation drying equipment, and dielectric heating drying equipment. There are many common dryers in these categories, and there are also many new drying equipment modified or newly developed according to the different drying characteristics of the materials. With the continuous advancement of domestic drying technology, the field of dryers has gradually expanded. There are many kinds of drying equipment to choose from for most materials, but there are not many drying equipments available for the drying process of paste-like materials with higher viscosity! Our company has conducted in-depth research on the drying characteristics of such materials. The drying sample workshop under the company has also used many different drying equipment to simulate production tests. ^ It was found that the drying process of paste-like materials with greater viscosity Choose tumble drying equipment too!

   Drum dryer

  Drum dryer is a conventional drying equipment, which is characterized by higher thermal efficiency, lower equipment investment and operating costs, and convenient price adjustment for drying parameters (such as temperature and time). As one of the main products of our company, drum drying equipment is currently used in many industries, such as pregelatinized starch drying, flake feed drying, polyaluminum chloride drying, and polyaluminum silicate drying.


  The drum dryer in the sample workshop of our company is a small test equipment with an output of 2t/a. The drum dryer is mainly composed of a frame, a rotating drum, a supporting roller, a scraper, a rotary joint, and a reducer. The structure of the equipment is as follows:


Working principle of drum drying equipment

  The equipment is indirect heating, and its heat transfer method is heat conduction. The working principle of the drum drying equipment is simply: the wet material enters from the top or bottom inlet, and the surface of the drum contacts. Since the heat medium passes through the drum, the wet material will adhere to the outer wall of the drum, forming a thinner material layer. The transmission device rotates the drum at a uniform speed, and the water in the material layer will be gradually evaporated. In the role of the pressure roller, a layer of wet material adheres to the outer wall of the drum. The drum continued to rotate, and another layer of wet material was added after passing the third and fourth feeding places. ^ When the thickness of the material layer meets the technological requirements (usually 0.3mm-2mm), no more material is added and the process of complete heating and drying begins. When the drum rotates to the scraping position, the temperature of the material layer is almost the same as the temperature of the drum. Scrape* scrapes off the material layer and collects it in the receiving barrel to complete the entire drying process.

   Use process of drum dryer

  1 Turn the hand wheel to adjust the gap between the pressure roller and the outer wall of the drum (due to the different drying parameters of the wet material, the gap size is different. Generally 2mm-6mm);

  2 Move the tension wheel to adjust the tightness of the chain;

  3 Adjust the scraping angle: turn the netted handle, and the scraping will gradually approach the outer wall of the drum. When the scraper touches the outer wall, tighten the lock nut at the bottom of the arm;

  4 Turn on the steam valve, and steam will flow into the drum. Observe the steam pressure on the control cabinet;

  5 When the steam pressure reaches the set value, turn on the motor and reducer;

  6 By adjusting the reducer, the speed of the drum is controlled (the lower the speed, the thicker the material layer, the speed setting is generally 3r/min-15r/min);
